I design it and I build it. If you work with Magnimont, you are working with me, not with an account manager who relays your words to someone you never meet.
I started Magnimont because I kept seeing the same thing: a studio would hand a client a beautiful mockup, then hand the build to somebody else, and the thing that shipped was a worse version of the thing that was sold.
So the studio is built the other way round. I design in the browser, because a design that cannot be built is just a picture. I write the code that ships. When something breaks at 2am, it is my problem, not a subcontractor's.
That limits how much work we take on. It also means nothing leaves here that I would not put my own name on, which is the trade I would make every time.
What I actually do
Design
Interfaces, brand systems, motion. Usually straight in code rather than in Figma.
Engineering
React and TypeScript on the front, Node and Postgres behind it, deployed at the edge.
The awkward bits
Scoping, saying no to features, and telling clients the thing they asked for is not the thing they need.
Things I’ll argue about
Held loosely enough to change, strongly enough to say out loud on a first call.
A mockup is not a deliverable
If it cannot be built at the size, speed and edge cases it will actually meet, it was decoration.
Most performance problems are architecture problems
You rarely need a rewrite. You need someone to read the network tab before they open a design tool.
Small on purpose
Headcount is not craft. I would rather turn work down than staff it with people who have never met you.
Boring where it counts
Clever code is a liability at 2am. Save the invention for the parts a person can actually see.
